DARSHAN ACADEMY, MEERUT

Our Logo

The logo for the Darshan Academy schools was designed to reflect the purpose for which these schools were created—to bring about the physical, mental, and spiritual development of each student.
The blooming lotus flower represents the unfolding of each student’s highest potential in life: physically, intellectually, emotionally, ethically, and spiritually.

The circles represent the potential of each student to tap into academic knowledge and spiritual wisdom – the holistic development of body, mind, and spirit – that the Darshan Academy schools foster. These include:

  • Mastery of academic subjects such as reading, writing, math, languages, science, and social studies;
  • Appreciation of the Arts, such as poetry, literature, music, and fine arts;
  • Development of the physical body through Sports, Wellness, Health, and Fitness;
  • Experience in Selfless service to make a contribution to the world in a peaceful way;
  • Building skills in leadership, team-building, and conflict resolution; and
  • Gaining spiritual experience through meditation on the inner Light and Sound that connects us with the Source of all wisdom and love, the greatest power of all, the power of God.

To represent the spiritual aspect of education, the design can also be interpreted as a person sitting in meditation. It represents the aspect of the spiritual curriculum in which students sit in silence to focus within to discover their divine essence as soul. Through meditation, in which we focus at the point between and behind the two eyebrows, we can connect with the inner Light and Sound. Meditation leads to peace, gives students the ability to concentrate which improves their studies, and opens up a doorway for them to have experienced their true nature as soul, the inner spiritual realms, and God.

The blue color of the lotus petals represents the peace, serenity, and love which the Darshan Academy spiritual curriculum provides with its period of meditation and focus on ethical values. The five petals of the lotus flower signify the five inner spiritual realms experienced in meditation.

The red color of the semi-circle below the flower represents the divine love and blessings of the Creator, supported and nurtured by those who made Darshan Academy possible. This especially includes the founder and inspiration for the school, the great Master, Sant Rajinder Singh Ji Maharaj. It includes the poet-saint, Sant Darshan Singh Ji Maharaj, after whom the school was named. It also includes those who developed the spiritual curriculum and programs and those administrators, teachers, and staff who lovingly use those programs to teach the students.

The words, “Be good, do good, be one” were given by Sant Kirpal Singh Ji Maharaj. “Be good” means to become a good person, in which we are the abode of ethical virtues, including nonviolence, truthfulness, purity, humility, love for all, and selfless service. “Do good” means to be of service and help to others, including those who are different from us, as one family of God. It also means to love and serve all creation, including all human beings, living creatures, and our planet. “Be one” means to perfect our spiritual practices and experience the oneness of our Creator. By doing so, we help to bring about a world of peace, unity, and love.
